Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2025

Frequent.audio (“we”, “us”, “the site”) is run by Nolan Petruska, known as Frequent. This policy explains what information we collect when you use frequent.audio, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

If you have a question about this policy or your data, use the Contact button at the top of any page.

What we collect

When you join as a member, we collect your name, email address, username, and password. We also store your membership level, when it started, and the payment history for it. We do not store your card number. Our payment processor handles that.

When you buy a product, we collect your name, email address, and billing details, and we keep a record of what you bought. You can buy without creating an account.

When you use the contact form or email us, we keep your message and your contact details so we can reply.

Like most websites, we automatically receive your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the time of each visit. We use Google Analytics to see how people use the site. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and our security tools also log requests so we can spot and block abuse.

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your cart, speed up page loading, run analytics, and protect forms from bots. You can block cookies in your browser, but logging in and checkout will not work without them.

Member videos are hosted on YouTube and play through a player built into the site. The player may record which videos you watch and how far you get, so you can pick up where you left off.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Give you access to the membership content or products you paid for.
  • Process payments, renewals, and refunds.
  • Send you receipts, account notices, and other messages about your membership or purchase.
  • Send you news and offers by email, if you have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Answer your questions.
  • Keep the site secure, prevent fraud and spam, and fix problems.
  • Understand which parts of the site people use, so we can improve it.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the services we need to run the site. Each one handles your data under its own privacy policy.

  • Stripe processes payments. Stripe receives your name, email address, billing details, and card information. [Add PayPal here if it is offered at checkout.]
  • Mailjet sends our emails. Mailjet receives your name and email address, and records whether you open or click an email.
  • Google Analytics collects usage information such as pages visited, device type, and approximate location.
  • hCaptcha protects some forms from bots. When you use those forms, hCaptcha receives your IP address and information about your browser.
  • YouTube (Google) hosts our member videos. When a video plays, YouTube receives your IP address and may set its own cookies.
  • Cloudflare sits in front of the site to deliver pages and block attacks. It sees the requests you make.
  • Hetzner hosts the server the site runs on.
  • Dropbox stores our site backups, which include member and order records.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of the site, our members, or others.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and purchase records while you have an account or a membership, and after that for as long as tax, accounting, and legal rules require. We keep contact form messages until your question is answered and for a short time after. Google keeps analytics data according to the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.

If you delete your account, we remove your profile. We may keep order and payment records we are required to keep.

Your choices and rights

  • To stop marketing emails, click the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us.
  • To block or delete cookies, use your browser settings.
  • To opt out of Google Analytics, install Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
  • To change your details, use your account page.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy of it, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, use the Contact button at the top of any page. We will confirm your identity before acting on it. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Where your data is stored

Our server is in the United States. Our service providers may process your data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on the providers’ standard contractual protections for these transfers.

Security

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), a firewall, and regular backups. Only the people who run the site can access member data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that your data will never be accessed without permission.

Children

The site is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will let members know by email or a notice on the site.
